data loss prevention (DLP) solutions

Data Protection

Know where your sensitive data lives, keep it from leaking, and make sure you can always recover it.

Data Protection: overview

Data protection starts with knowing where sensitive data lives. SecureBeans deploys data loss prevention (DLP) solutions that discover, monitor and block sensitive information leaving through email, web, cloud apps, endpoints and USB, plus encryption, sensitivity labelling and immutable backup and recovery.

We deliver DLP and information protection with Broadcom (Symantec) DLP and Microsoft Purview, and backup and cyber recovery with Cohesity (including the former Veritas NetBackup business).

Data Protection at a glance

Data loss prevention and data classification

Data loss prevention starts with data classification - knowing what is sensitive and where it lives. SecureBeans deploys Symantec DLP and Microsoft Purview to discover sensitive data, apply labels and block it leaving through email, web, cloud apps, endpoints and USB, and adds data security posture management to show who can reach what.

Backup and recovery built for ransomware

Backup and recovery is your last line of defence. We design immutable backup copies, cyber vaulting in an isolated environment and tested ransomware recovery runbooks, so a clean restore is possible even when production and primary backups are compromised.

Cyber resilience with Cohesity DataProtect and NetBackup

With Cohesity DataProtect and NetBackup we protect on-premises, cloud and SaaS data from one platform, detect anomalies that indicate encryption attacks, and orchestrate disaster recovery. The result is cyber resilience: measured recovery times and recovery points that the business has agreed to.

FAQ

Data Protection - frequently asked questions

What does a DLP solution do?

A data loss prevention (DLP) solution identifies sensitive data such as customer records, card numbers and intellectual property, monitors how it moves, and blocks or encrypts it when it would leave the organisation in breach of policy.

How long does a DLP deployment take?

A typical enterprise DLP deployment runs in phases over 8-16 weeks: discovery and policy design, monitor-only mode, tuning to reduce false positives, then enforcement.

How do backups protect against ransomware?

Immutable, isolated backups cannot be encrypted or deleted by attackers, so data can be restored quickly after a ransomware attack without paying a ransom.

Is Veritas NetBackup still supported?

Yes. Cohesity acquired Veritas's data protection business, including NetBackup, in December 2024, and continues to support it. SecureBeans works with Cohesity on these products.
