Encryption & Key Management at a glance

Encrypt data at rest and data in transit

Encryption and key management protects data at rest on laptops, servers and databases, and data in transit across networks. SecureBeans deploys full-disk encryption with central BitLocker management, file encryption for sensitive folders and database encryption with Symantec Encryption, Kaspersky and Microsoft Purview.

Central key management system and HSM

Encryption is only as strong as its keys. A key management system stores, rotates and recovers keys centrally, and an HSM protects the most sensitive keys in hardware - a requirement in PCI DSS and banking environments.

FAQ

Encryption & Key Management - frequently asked questions

Why is key management important for encryption?

If keys are lost, data is unrecoverable; if keys are stolen, encryption is useless. Central key management controls who can use keys, rotates them and provides recovery, which auditors check closely.

Is BitLocker enough for laptop encryption?

BitLocker provides strong full-disk encryption on Windows. With central BitLocker management for recovery keys and compliance reporting it meets most requirements for laptop encryption.

Do I need an HSM?

A hardware security module (HSM) is recommended or required when you protect payment keys, PKI root keys or other high-value secrets, for example in banking and PCI DSS environments.
